Brisbane Apartment Renovation.

This inner-city apartment renovation in Brisbane began with a challenge: a one-bedroom layout with builder-grade finishes, limited natural light, and a bedroom without ventilation. With a focus on creating a space that felt open, personalised, and future-ready, I reimagined the spatial flow to bring comfort, connection, and individuality into every corner.

The redesigned layout relocated the bedroom to the former lounge room, taking full advantage of natural light and cross ventilation. The original bedroom was opened up to create an open-plan living area, enhancing light distribution and improving the apartment’s flow and functionality.

Inspired by Cotrell doors, a custom steel and glass partition was introduced between the new bedroom and living area—providing privacy while allowing soft, filtered light to pass through. This solution added a sense of openness and sophistication, ideal for small space interior design.

The entryway was reconfigured to include a practical study nook and built-in storage, offering a more thoughtful and welcoming arrival experience. In the kitchen and dining zone, bespoke cabinetry in rich verdant green and elegant marble finishes reflected the client’s love of bold interiors and timeless luxury.

To enhance usability, the bathroom, laundry, and toilet were separated into individual zones, creating a sense of scale and making the most of the compact floorplan. This project reflects how considered, custom design can completely transform a small apartment into a home that feels expansive, stylish, and uniquely personal.

  • Kind words from Lorna

I was unsure where to start with my kitchen renovation, but Ainslie made the process straightforward. She listened, offered great solutions, and helped create a space that works beautifully for my lifestyle. Now, my kitchen is functional, stylish, and a great place to entertain. Thank you.

  • Kind words from Anne

Renovating my entire apartment felt like a huge task, but Ainslie made it manageable. She handled everything from color selection, flooring, new kitchen design, storage, and even turned an unused spot into a home office. Her spatial planning was spot-on, making the space feel both functional and stylish.

Ainslie took the time to understand my needs and guided me through decisions without overcomplicating things. The end result is a home that feels cohesive, well-designed, and truly works for me. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a designer who balances practicality with great design.

  • Kind words from Di

At this stage in life, I just wanted my home to be comfortable, easy to live in, and a place where I can enjoy time with family and friends. Ainslie really got that.

She helped renovate my bathroom in a way that works perfectly for me now but can also be adjusted later if needed. She also updated my floors and added smart lighting (which I never knew I needed but now love). New paint, curtains, and she helped me hang my artwork, my house now looks like the home I imagined.

  • Kind words from Milton

I just wanted a cozy, quiet space where I could play music, relax, and be surrounded by my art and memories.

Design Anthropic pulled everything together in a way that finally makes my home look and feel so sophisticated. Even my dog Charlie has his own spot! Ainslie picked materials that could handle a bit of fur. We both love hanging out. Bathrooms are next on the list.
